Types of Stego Studio Instruction

Faculty and staff can collaborate with Stego Studio to provide instruction to their students. We encourage you to explore our webpage to better understand the technologies and capabilities in our space. We also encourage you to reach out to us at stegostudio@nku.edu to schedule a consultation. We would be happy to discuss potential assignments and ways we can collaborate with you and your students.

We currently offer three kinds of instruction:

1. Tour of Stego Studio: An opportunity to bring your class to our makerspace and learn about the various technologies and tools available to NKU students.The tour will broadly introduce our space, services, and expertise to your students.
2. Makerspace instruction: Our makerspace staff will provide instruction to your class, including demos of certain equipment your students may be using for an assignment. Students will work to develop maker competencies needed to use Stego Studio successfully for academic purposes.
3. Open Studio time: Following a Stego Studio tour or makerspace instruction, you may elect to have your students return to Stego Studio to use our equipment. Reserving open studio time allows our makerspace staff to be ready to assist you and your students.

How to schedule

We do ask for two weeks advance notice, in order to ensure we have the right staffing to support you and your students.

Please use the form below to request a makerspace instruction session.

• Use the "Go To Date" button to select your ideal date and then select your preferred time and option (tour/instruction or studio time). For classes that do not start at the top of the hour, choose the closest time and we will work with you to finalize your course time.
• For Open Studio time, you can select multiple dates, just navigate to each date and select your time. You'll see all the times you've selected populate at the bottom of your screen.
• Once you select your date(s), click "Submit Times." You'll then fill out our booking form, providing information on your course and assignment that uses makerspace technologies.

After you submit your form, our makerspace team will reach out with 48 business hours to confirm the date/time and details. As a reminder, we ask that if you sign up for Open studio time, you've also signed up to tour our space and or have makerspace instruction first.
